This year, Apple has launched four new phones: the iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. New features in iPhone 12 includes the MagSafe Wireless Charging and a faster processor (Apple A14 Bionic). The new materials used to make the phone make it more resistant compared to previous models. The smallest in the series is the iPhone 12 Mini and the largest is the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Listed below are some of the main features and differences between the iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.

iPhone 12 Mini

  • SIZE: 5.4 inch screen size. Its easier to carry, easy to hold and fits into pockets easily.
  • CAMERA: Front facing 4k video support. Can record videos in HDR at 4K at 30 frames per second.
  • BATTERY: The battery life is approximately 8 hours and has a 2227mAH battery.
  • SPEAKER: The sound is sufficiently loud on external speakers.
  • STORAGE: Storage sizes available are 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
  • WEIGHT: 135g

iPhone 12 Pro Max

  • SIZE: 6.7 inch screen size. The biggest size so far.
  • CAMERA: iPhone 12 has a slightly better camera. Can record in HDR at 4K at 60 frames per second.
  • BATTERY: The battery life is more on the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Approximately 11 hours and has a 3687 mAH battery.
  • SPEAKER: Has a bigger speaker and is a little louder when compared to iPhone 12 Mini.
  • STORAGE: Storage sizes available are 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
  • WEIGHT: 228g

Features on both iPhone Mini and iPhone Pro Max

  • Have a front facing 12-megapixel camera and better stabilization.
  • Works with MagSafe, a new feature in iPhone cases which has wireless charging.
  • Works on 5G which is fast. Do note that 5G is not available everywhere.
  • Have FaceID recognition.
  • The speed on both phones are nearly the same. Only a very slightly faster speed on the Pro Max.
  • Have a powerful processor – A14 Bionic Processor.
  • Uses a Lightning connector.

Conclusion:

The biggest deciding factor could be the iPhone size and affordability. iPhone Mini is cheaper and lighter when compared to the other iPhone 12 models.  If you plan on spending more time watching videos, playing games, or recording HD videos then the iPhone 12 Pro Max would be a better option.
